Solve Audio Sync Problems in Minutes

Audio sync issues can ruin an otherwise perfect video. Whether it’s a slight delay or completely out-of-sync audio, Premiere Pro offers several quick fixes that most editors don’t know about.

Method 1: The Audio Track Mixer Trick

Open the Audio Track Mixer and look for the Track Delay parameter. This allows you to shift audio by milliseconds without affecting video. Perfect for fine-tuning sync issues that are just slightly off.

Method 2: Synchronize by Audio

Select both your video and audio clips, right-click, and choose Synchronize. Select Audio as the sync method, and Premiere will automatically align them based on audio waveforms. This works wonders for multi-camera shoots.

Method 3: Manual Frame Adjustment

For precise control, use the Ripple Edit tool to slide audio clips frame by frame. Hold Alt/Option while dragging to move only the audio without affecting the video track.

Quick Fix: If you’re dealing with variable frame rate footage, always convert to constant frame rate before editing to prevent sync issues from the start.
